SPITFIRE

The spitfire is a board designed with a very wide swallow tail to allow for maximum maneuverability. The shape of the board is somewhat different from the conventional shortboard shape as the concept concentrates on the width and placement of the 'hip' of the board. The Spitfire has been an extremely popular innovation over the past 2 years.

The traditional longboard is the board that has been around since the beginning, altering the old-school longboard can be done in many ways to give each individual that special and unique edge to allow for maximum enjoyment and performance. PERFORMANCE SHORTBOARD

The performance shortboard is a board designed to allow for the highest degree of peformance, it is a board that is glassed lightly but is still very strong and is tailored-made to suit the specific conditions in which it will be ridden. A wider and slightly smaller board is often used by top riders to maximise their performance in smaller and weaker conditions.

GUN/SEMI-GUN

The gun or semi-gun is shaped to give you that needed extra length in the bigger and more testing conditions. Most surfers tend to go a little bit narrower and sometimes a little thinner to compensate for that extra length, this increases your paddle ability into waves and allows you to draw nice clean lines in the barrel & in more powerful surf.

MINI-MALIBU

The Mini-Malibu is one step short of the traditional longboard, it is a fun-board and allows an easy paddle into waves. It is a very common board in the line-up in small, playful summer surf. A perfect board for the everyday surfer who wishes to surf in 1 foot slop or 4 feet perfection.

FISH

The fish is generally a way smaller, wider board with the "fish (swallow) tail". It is often used in flat, mushy conditions. At Bilt we experiment constantly with new shapes, tails and placement of the boards 'hip' section, this allows our shapers to get a good understanding of which boards are successful and which aren't.
